- Part II examines the definition and basic composition of genuine Christian faith.
- Part III examines the relationship between faith and works in a Christian's life.
- FAQs are frequently asked questions regarding the definition and practice of Christian faith.
Author's Note: I highly recommend studying the
101-level Salvation-related Topics before continuing with this article. Many faith-related issues are examined throughout that series of articles.
Also, making the case archaeologically, medically, astronomically, geographically, forensically, historically, philosphically, etc. for the reliability of the Bible, proof of God's existence, and the deity of Jesus is beyond the scope of these 101-level articles. These are the kinds of issues the
301-level Topics will eventually tackle. Since, Grow In Christ is mostly a one-man operation, it may take a while before these apologetic (i.e. faith-defending) articles see the light of day.
Meanwhile, to satisfy the appetites of skeptics, I recommend the following list of Christian apologetic books (in no specific order) by authors who are highly respected in their respective fields: The Historical Reliability of the Gospels by Craig Blomberg (Inter-varsity Press); Archaeology and the New Testament by John McRay (Baker); The Real Jesus by Luke Timothy Johnson (Harper-Collins). For some easier reading, The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel (Harper-Collins/Zondervan) introduces the reader to many "heavy hitters" in various fields of Christian apologetics. By the way, four chapters of Strobel's book are devoted to revealing the evidences that Jesus was indeed resurrected from the dead. Also, Ravi Zacharias has a number of excellent books devoted to convincing people that Jesus truly is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
